12 survivors, 36 specials
Woodsman to Shieldbearer, each with a signature ability, a second at level 3 and an ultimate at level 8. Specialize at 12 tree points and two survivors of the same class fight completely differently.

Your fire is your life. Gather by day, hold the light by night, and build a survivor who gets stronger every run.
Last Ember is a survival roguelike in full 3D that runs right in your browser, with a pixel-art Classic mode for older machines. By day you cut wood, mine ore, fish and forage. When the sun goes down the dark comes for your fire, and everything you built that day is what stands between it and the Last Dark.
Bring up to three friends. Host a lobby, pick the mode, map and difficulty, and every survivor keeps their own levels, skills and loot between runs.
Woodsman to Shieldbearer, each with a signature ability, a second at level 3 and an ultimate at level 8. Specialize at 12 tree points and two survivors of the same class fight completely differently.
Permanent levels up to 50, five attributes with milestone passives, a deep three-branch skill tree per class, and three build slots so a new spec never costs you the old one.
Carry your ember across four maps in a row, pick your road between them, and face the Last Dark at the end. Five tiers, each with less light and meaner monsters.
The Stag, Moonfang, the Colossus, the Brood Mother and the Lantern Eater, each with its own name and order on every map, plus the Last Dark at the end of an Expedition. Every big move has a wind-up you can read, and at half health each one enrages.
Seven buildings between runs: a Forge to craft and temper gear, a Smokehouse, a Garden, a Merchant, and a Trophy Hall with 31 trophies to earn.
Up to four players with revives. Public or private lobbies, friend tags and messages, and leaderboards for the Daily Challenge, the Long Night and the Boss Rush.

A run ends when the home fire reaches zero fuel or when every survivor is down at once. In co-op a downed teammate can be revived by standing next to them.
Click the fire or press E while standing beside it. Each log adds 7 fuel, more with Firemaking, and the fire never takes wood unless you choose to feed it.
The second ability on F opens at survivor level 3 and the ultimate on R at level 8. If you reach either level mid-run, it is ready right away.
